JAIL & PRISON MINISTRY
My ministry at Bartlett State Jail consists of going out one day each week (Thursday) to minister to men of all ages. I visit the twenty-five cells in the Administrative Segregation (Seg) area. I pass out Bibles and other Christian literature, pray with individuals when requested, answer religious questions and counsel them. Then I go up to the Education Building where I assist the Chaplain, teach classes such as Bill Gotthard’s "Basic Life Principles Life Principles Community Program", New Chris¬tian education in the "Survival Kit" and a newly developed "TEN COMMANDMENTS” booklet.
This year I drove a total of 7,200 miles (74 miles each way). I ministered to an average 28 students and 10 SEG inmates each week. In this effort 10 inmates trusted in Christ for Salvation.
My ministry at the Burnet County Jail every Friday is to pro¬vide Bible Study and prayer with both male and female inmates. Jailers bring them into the "MULTI-PURPOSE" room individually or in groups according to their status of confinement. I minister to the females separately in groups or individually, and to trusties as a group and then to male and female confinees from "SEG" who request to attend individually. A friend, Alicia Zimmerman also comes in when she is available to minister to the females and to any who speak Spanish.
This year I drove 1,380 miles to minister to 283 inmates (an Average of 12 per week) and had 12 persons pray to receive Christ.
